Skunks may be cute from a distance, but when they take up residence on your property— especially during breeding and birthing season— they can create a serious, foul smelling problem. At Mighty Men, we understand the urgency of removing these living stink bombs from your property. That's why we offer skunk trapping, removal, and eviction services.
Smelling a skunk?
Skunks may be cute from a distance, but when they take up residence on your property- especially during breeding and birthing season— they can create a real problem.
Why care about Birthing season?
Simply put: a pregnant female skunk is the preface to a whole skunk family moving in under your living room.
Skunks have been known to have as many as 10 kits in a single litter; once a female has her young it is staggeringly difficult to catch and remove her without leaving one of her babies behind, sentencing it to death by the elements.
When skunks are pregnant or raising their young they become fierce adversaries. They have 4 sharp canines, 12 fine incisors, and a set of gnarly claws that they can use to devastating effect. Females with babies are exceptionally territorial - a problem when their territory is your dog's, too. Skunks are one of the most prolific carries of rabies in the United States, with greater infection rates than bats or raccoons. This fact, coupled with a female skunk's territorial attitude, can spell big trouble for your property.
Why care about Breeding season?
Skunks are more active during breeding season than during any other time of the year. Males can travel up to 5 miles between dusk and dawn, just looking for females. And when a male does find a female? Skunk breeding smells terrible.
While males look for females, females look for locations to den for the coming Spring. This is where the real trouble starts.
The perfect skunk den is dark, enclosed, and snug. What else is dark, enclosed, and snug? Your crawlspace; the space under your deck; your shed. Female skunks burrow under any and all of these (and more!) to create dens for their young.
Skunk burrowing can damage foundations, jeopardizing the structural integrity of your property. Decks, sheds, and porches are all ideal locations for a soon-to-be mama skunk.

How can Mighty Men help?
We're so glad you asked.
We here at Mighty Men have over 40 years combined experience in the world of wildlife management and pest control. Our trapping and eviction methods reflect that expertise.
Trapping is the most effective method to deal with wild skunks. Skunks are omnivorous and most are highly food-motivated, something we use to our advantage. We deal with skunks using humane trapping methods whereby our licensed technicians treat the animal in question with the utmost respect and compassion.
If trapping isn't an option because Mama Skunk has already had her litter, we utilize humane eviction methods, where we make the environment around her den unappealing. These methods are safe for your pets and family. By changing the environment around her den, we encourage Mama Skunk to find another location to raise her young.
Trapping is more effective than eviction, but can separate young from their mother. As such: we only evict when trapping is no longer an option. Wildlife exclusion is more effective than either.

What is wildlife exclusion?
Wildlife exclusion is the process of protecting your home or business against entry by wildlife. Wildlife exclusion is the most effective way to keep skunks from making your home theirs, period. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, or so it goes, and that's certainly true of keeping wildlife out of the structures on your property. We at Mighty Men are committed to doing things the Mighty way - where we dedicate decades of combined experience to making sure the entry and exit points of your structure are sealed, your fixtures are secure, and your plumbing guarded with wildelife grade materials.
We're ready to be your trusted partners in protecting your home or business from skunks not only during breeding and birthing season, but all year-round.
Breeding season becomes birthing season fast.
You need to be faster.
Don't let another day go by without intervention.
